Start Safe Academy understands that schedules can change. The following policy applies to course enrollments and behind-the-wheel driving sessions.

Driver Education Program Refunds
The Mississippi Driver Education Program is refundable if cancellation is requested before the student is provided access to the online course. Once access to the online coursework has been provided, the program is non-refundable.

Online Exam Preparation Course Refunds
The Online Computerized Exam Preparation Course is refundable if cancellation is requested before the student is provided access to the course. Once course access has been provided, the course is non-refundable.

Driving Session Cancellations & Rescheduling
Students must provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a behind-the-wheel driving session without penalty. 

 

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice and missed appointments may result in forfeiture of the scheduled session.

 

For students enrolled in the Mississippi Driver Education Program, a forfeited session will count as one of the three included behind-the-wheel sessions. An additional session may need to be purchased to complete the program requirements.

 

For stand-alone driving students, a forfeited session is non-refundable, and a new session must be purchased if additional instruction is desired.

Late Arrivals
Students should arrive on time and be prepared for their scheduled driving session. Students arriving more than 15 minutes late may have their session shortened or treated as a missed appointment if there is not enough time to safely and effectively conduct the lesson. Scheduled sessions cannot be extended beyond their original end time.

Cancellations by Start Safe Academy
Start Safe Academy may cancel or reschedule a driving session because of unsafe weather or road conditions, instructor availability, vehicle concerns, or other circumstances that could affect safety or instruction.

 

If Start Safe Academy cancels a session, the student may reschedule the session without penalty. The session will not be forfeited.

Vehicle Readiness
Students are responsible for providing the required vehicle and ensuring that it meets Start Safe Academy's safety and insurance requirements. If a scheduled driving session cannot be conducted because the required vehicle, proof of insurance, or other required documentation is not available or acceptable, the session may be treated as a late cancellation or missed appointment.

Approved refunds will be returned using the available payment method and may be subject to payment-processing timelines.

Policy Changes
Start Safe Academy may update this policy when necessary. The policy in effect at the time of purchase or scheduled service will apply unless otherwise required by law.
